Convert PNG to a PES embroidery file
A transparent PNG is often a useful starting point for a logo or illustration because it can separate the artwork from its background. It still contains pixels rather than machine stitches. Creating a PES file means digitising the shapes and reviewing their behaviour at a real embroidery size. Embrixell lets you upload the artwork, select the material, create a preview and choose PES when it is the right format for your machine. The important checks are the edges of the image, readable details, thread colours and the exact capabilities of your machine model.

Inspect transparency and the artwork edges
A transparent background does not guarantee a clean design. Zoom in briefly to find stray dots, pale outlines or semi-transparent pixels left by background removal. Then return to the intended embroidery size to judge whether those details matter. Remove unrelated marks and retain only the shapes you actually want sewn. Do not add a rectangular background just to make the image visible on screen unless that rectangle is part of the requested embroidery. Keep a clean original so you can revise the image without repeatedly compressing it.
Prepare letters and a practical colour palette
Letters and gaps that look clear in a large PNG can become too small at chest-logo size. Give short text enough height and spacing, and simplify thin decorative lines. Flat, clearly separated colours are easier to assess than soft shadows and gradients. Around six main colours can be a practical starting point, but this is not a hard generator limit. Inspect the thread preview after every meaningful adjustment. If a detail disappears, consider simplifying the artwork or increasing the intended embroidery size rather than expecting thread to reproduce every pixel.
Check PES support on the exact model
PES is commonly used by compatible Brother and Baby Lock machines, but format-version, hoop and stitch limits differ between models. Embrixell exports PES v6; confirm compatibility in your machine manual or import software rather than relying on the brand name alone. Transfer the file using the supported method and keep the colour sequence with the design. A preview is not a sewn sample. Test a new design on similar material before a larger run, using a suitable stabiliser and the thread and needle intended for production.
Preview first, files from €2.49
The preview lets you assess the plan before buying a digital file. The generator’s one-time file price starts at €2.49 and depends on the resulting stitch count; larger plans use the published price tiers. Resizing can change the number of stitches and therefore the price. Optional subscriptions remain available for customers who create designs regularly. Catalogue designs have their own displayed prices. A finished product is quoted separately for the selected textile, embroidery, quantity and delivery, with the total shown before payment.
Practical questions before you start
Is a transparent PNG already a PES file?
No. Transparency separates the image background; the shapes still need a machine stitch plan.
Which PES version is exported?
The generator exports PES v6. Verify that your exact machine or import software supports it.
Can a small logo retain all its details?
Not always. Review small text and thin lines at the actual size and simplify when necessary.
